CBS 46 Cares, The World of Weather, conducted weekdays at 1:15 p.m. by WGCL’s Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Valdez, is designed to help parents keep their children entertained while learning about the weather in a fun and innovative way.
Thousands of kids at home while their schools are closed due to the coronavirus are getting lessons on weather thanks to an initiative by WGCL, Meredith’s CBS affiliate in Atlanta.
CBS 46 Cares, The World of Weather, conducted weekdays at 1:15 p.m. by WGCL’s Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Valdez, is designed to help parents keep their children entertained while learning about the weather in a fun and innovative way.
The segments are streamed live on WGCL’s Facebook page, and the CBS46 app, and then posted to the CBS46 YouTube page and cbs46.com.
The World of Weather segments are 10-20 minutes long and cover topics including the seasons, severe weather, rain and flooding to name a few.
Here’s WGCL’s first World of Weather segment:
WTTG, the Fox O&O in Washington, D.C., needs a seasoned news producer.
This person will be responsible for daily production of newscast (compile and write stories, log video, wire copy) within specific time constraints to meet news deadlines. Must be familiar with and able to log and edit video for inclusion on scripts. Responsible for production of stories — everything from setting up the story, to interviews, to writing and editing features and coordinating graphics. You will also research stories via telephone with city public information officers, public relations organizations, etc.
