WOIO, Gray’s CBS affiliate in Cleveland, brought together experts from all three major hospitals — the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and MetroHealth System — for a live, hour-long special answering questions about the COVID-19 vaccine that aired on Tuesday night, March 23, at 9.
The Cleveland Comeback: Facts about the VAX Live broadcast was also streamed on the 19 News streaming channels on Roku, Amazon Fire and Apple TV, and the program was also simulcast on Gray’s Toledo ABC affiliate WTVG.
Representatives from the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers were also on the show to offer their personal perspectives on the pandemic experience and words of encouragement.
The Ohio Department of Health was available when the special aired live to help people check eligibility and schedule viewers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
As the episode aired, WOIO ran a Facebook Live concurrently, where six doctors from the three hospitals answered questions for an hour.
