DeVille, an LSU grad, won’t have to move, or become familiar with the market as Shreveport is her hometown. “The best thing is that I get to do this in my hometown where I am close to my family,” says DeVille.

Katharyn Howe DeVille is the new creative services director at KTAL, Nexstar’s NBC affiliate in Shreveport, La. DeVille, an LSU grad, won’t have to move, or become familiar with the market since Shreveport is her hometown. In fact, DeVille started her local TV career as in intern at KSLA, the Gray CBS affiliate in town.
“The best thing is that I get to do this in my hometown where I am close to my family,” she says of her new job. “My mother and two of my brothers and their families are here. My husband is also a Bossier City native. So it’s a wonderful situation on all fronts. Being at a station where your home and heart are makes what we do personal.”
In her career, DeVille was digital marketing manager for Belo, the marketing director for KTBS, the ABC affiliate in Shreveport, and a regional marketing director for Raycom, which was acquired by Gray Television.
“I think I bring a unique perspective having been at the corporate level of two media companies, as well as extensive on-the-ground experience in both news and marketing at the station level,” she says.
DeVille knows the market well.
“We are speaking to friends, neighbors, family and colleagues and that is something that really matters to me,” DeVille says.
“Nexstar is a great company, and that’s a blessing,” says DeVille.
“I’m just really excited to serve the people in our viewing area.”
DeVille starts June 7.
