If I were marooned on a tropical deserted island, and had good WiFi, I could keep track of what’s happening in cities and towns all across America all the time on Facebook thanks to local TV.
If I were marooned on a deserted tropical island, and had good WiFi, I could keep track of what’s happening in cities and towns all across America all the time on Facebook thanks to local TV.
That’s because I follow hundreds of local TV stations’ Facebook pages, and when I hit the MOST RECENT option, my feed is immediately populated with posts updating me with the latest info to keep me company.
Like right now while I eat lunch of dried kelp and coconut milk, I see, thanks to WCMH in Columbus, Ohio, that my stimulus check might be on its way soon. I hope they direct deposit mine as the mail’s a little slow around here.
And here’s some Supreme Court news from KCRG in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nice to know the wheels of justice still turn for those seeking shelter wherever we are.
Thanks to a post from KDAF in Kansas City, I have affordable choices for rent wherever I chose to go. But it’s hard to beat the rent on a deserted island.
A 2,000 year-old carving of a cat was discovered in Peru, according to a post from WFIE in Evansville, Ind. That reminds me, I should scratch a “Help Me” sign in the sand on the beach.
And WPIX in New York wants me to know that a million people took to the air in one day recently. I hope one of them sees my sign on the beach.
Laughter always helps when you’re alone. So thanks to KOMO in Seattle for letting me know about the naming of a sewage plant. When your toilet backs up, now you know who to call.
I see the President might be leaving the country, thanks to WPDE in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C.. Tell him I’ve got plenty of room here. You can’t be picky about companionship on a deserted island.
You can feel lonely living on a deserted island, so stories of people who make sacrifices for others cheer me up, thanks to posts like this from KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas.
WGN Chicago’s Morning News Facebook video about some employees who are not quite ready for the move into the station, made me laugh, which just goes to show you that when you can make fun of even the most serious situations, life on a deserted island isn’t that bad when you have Facebook.
